Anniversary Card

This is a quick post to show you the Anniversary card I made for my husband! On Friday, we will celebrate 5 years of marriage. A little about Husband. He is Active Duty with the U.S. Coast Guard. The CG keeps our family constantly moving, literally! I found this adorable stamp set from the Greeting Farm, and knew it would be perfect for a card for Husband.

I colored the stamps using Spectrum Noir markers. I tried to make the characters look as much like as us possible. My hair is more red than that, but it'll do. The sparkles and Sentiment are CTMH, but the punch is Teresa Collins. The card is blank inside.

June H2H Guest Designer: Let Them Eat Cake

Hello there, Artsy Friends! I am truly honored to be Heart 2 Heart Challenges Guest Designer for the month of June 2015! Heart 2 Heart is a challenge blog for projects that feature Close to My Heart products. A new project is posted every Monday, and you have the rest of the month to complete the projects.

Welcome to my last design as a Guest Designer for H2H. This week's theme is Let Them Eat Cake. In May, my son and I decorated cookies with the Strongsville Early Childhood PTA. My son is two, so frosting cookies was more about eating the sugary frosting than actually completing the task.

For the left page, I drew inspiration from Pinterest. I used the Taste of Summer May campaign paper to create the whimsical look.

I love the colors of this paper. They're really bright and fun. Perfect for this design.

To embellish, I used a retired stamp set that is all about cupcakes. I know we were making cookies, but I felt these would still add to the page.

For the right page, I layered some more of the paper, and added four 2x3 pictures.

The splat on both pages is a Tim Holtz stencil. I used Gypsy ink sponged on using a finger dauber.

June H2H Guest Designer: Man, Oh Man

Hello there, Artsy Friends! I am truly honored to be Heart 2 Heart Challenges Guest Designer for the month of June 2015! Heart 2 Heart is a challenge blog for projects that feature Close to My Heart products. A new project is posted every Monday, and you have the rest of the month to complete the projects.

The third challenge this month is a masculine inspired challenge. This was the perfect opportunity to create a Father's Day card for my awesome husband. I used the Jackson Paper Pack to create a retro suit that my Salvation Army styled husband would totally rock.

I cut the bow tie using the Cricut Artiste cartridge. I absolutely adore this bow! It works as a great accent for a lot of different projects.

The sentiment is the Best Dad Ever stamp set stamped in Cocoa right on the suit design. I thought this stamp had a great throwback feel, just like the suit.

For the inside of the card, I added a sentiment from the same stamp set and some mustache washi tape.

I am also entering this for Color My Heart's Color Dare #146.

June H2H Guest Designer: Around the World- Maps

Hello there, Artsy Friends! I am truly honored to be Heart 2 Heart Challenges Guest Designer for the month of June 2015! Heart 2 Heart is a challenge blog for projects that feature Close to My Heart products. A new project is posted every Monday, and you have the rest of the month to complete the projects.

The second H2H challenge this month is Around the World: Maps. I drew from Pinterest for this layout. All of my Pinspirations can be found on my Scrapbook Page Idea Board.

The Wanderful paper pack is perfect for travel layouts. Fortunately, I had a few scraps left from my paper pack. For starters, I used the zip ties and washi tape to create the flight pattern of the planes.

Since we were flying from Tampa home to Cleveland, I used my 50 States Cricut cartridge to cut out the states, and then drew a dotted "travel" line to mark our flight.

Instead of including the journaling from the original design, I chose to create a cluster embellishment using some items from my stash and the coordinating assortment and complements. I also used a Heidi Swapp stencil for the stars.

Two Layouts, One Sketch

Hello again! Today I am going to show you two more no stamping pages! I had a good response from my Thanksgiving limited stamping pages, so I am going to show you two different spreads using NO STAMPING!

For both of these layouts, I used a sketch from the challenge blog Let's Scrap. Although, the sketch inspired me on these pages, I did deviate from it.

I'm kind of in love with this first spread. I used the Yuletide Carol paper pack and complements to create these pages.

For the left side, I used an overlay from Cricut Artbooking to create this adorable, vintage ornament design. I embellished with a cluster that has a PML card that I cut down and a Santa from the Holiday Happenings Assortment. It's hard to tell in photos, but I actually added a little bling to the ornaments with Stickles.

For the right page, I used some 4x6 flip flaps, so that I could have more photos on the page. I can never have enough Christmas pictures!

For the second spread, I flipped the sketch and kept everything pretty basic.

The left side features an adorable reindeer that I cut from Cricut Artbooking and some more Complements.

For the right page, I used the beautiful flowers on one of the Yuletide Carol pages to create a cluster and cut a border also from Cricut Artbooking to frame the photo.

June H2H Guest Designer: Warm vs. Cold

The first June Challenge is a Warm vs. Cool color challenge. I love mixing rich red colors with cooler blues and grays. This pairs perfectly with the Snowhaven paper pack.

For this spread, I tried a different technique by embossing a stenciled pattern on vellum and the paper to mimic snowfall. I used a Heidi Swapp stencil called "Confetti" and white embossing pattern to create the look. Then I layered a cluster on top of the pattern.

To embellish the page, I used the coordinating chipboard, which really added some fun dimensions to the page.
