Using Daubers to Create an Original B&T

I created this simple cute card to meet the requirements for two different challenges: Color My Heart's Color Dare #107 and CAS(E) this Sketch's #90. The Color Dare was to use Smokey Plumb and Olive. Here is CTS #90:

I used finger daubers to create an original polka dot pattern using smokey plumb and olive. Topped it off with an adorable Hostess Rewards stamp set called Cuddly Salutations. Here is the result!

School Year Themed Binder

I decided to keep the mini album momentum going by creating a school themed binder. I found a really great tutorial series on YouTube by Chelsea Perry. You can find the video series here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJdXj4GJhRg&list=PLVxE9ZfF_MWL9DDkFjnUcyrbPf2_LG_4q

I started by creating the binder first using the Chalk It Up Paper Pack, Chalk It Up Compliments, chipboard (purchased at local craft store), eyelets, black and white twill ribbon, and a Tim Holtz binder ring.

After I finished my binder, I created my pages. I have seven front and back pages. Although, I may add a few more later.

After I completed the project, I also submitted it to Take Heart Ideas September Challenge. Find more about Take Heart Ideas here: http://takeheartideas.com/
This project was also submitted to Color My Heart's Color Dare #108. Find more about Color My Heart here: http://colormyheartcolordare.blogspot.com/

Waterfall Folio Mini Album

I am sort of obsessed with the look of mini albums. But, until today, I had never actually made one. I saw an adorable photo posted on the CTMH Artwork page on Facebook. I loved the concept, so I used the tutorial she posted and got to work.

I used the retired Babycakes paper pack to create this project. Here is the final result:

The folio is made with chipboard for extra durability. I added cute cutouts from the Cricut Artbooking cartridge to the front cover.

The waterfall is created with seven 4x4.5in flaps attached to a base.

I filled the pocket with two Picture My Life cards that could be used for journaling.

The video tutorial I watched can be found here:

One Sheet Wonders Using Snowhaven: Christmas Cards Already?!?!?!

I am seriously in love with One Sheet Wonders! They allow you to create six cards with one sheet of B&T! This is a quick and easy way to create card sets for gifts, or just create a bunch of cards for several occasions at once! I do not have cut diagram, but I do have cut instructions on a previous post (click here).

So, I know it is only mid-August, but I have already started making Christmas cards! It may seem early, but Christmas will be here in no time!!! I used the One Sheet Wonder technique and our Snowhaven paper pack to create these six cards:

The horizontal card was made using the Flakey Friends stamp set. I stamped the snowmen in black and then colored them with markers. I also added epoxy bubbles to the coal buttons to give the card dimension.

The polar bear card was created using two different stamp sets: Be Jolly (Hostess Reward set), and Home for the Holidays (October Stamp of the Month). Home for the Holidays coordinates with Cricut Art Philosophy. The circle was cut using Cricut Art Philosophy at 2in.

The ornament card also used the Home for the Holidays (October Stamp of the Month) stamp set. I cut the ornament using Cricut Art Philosophy, and added a little flourish for bling. The "ribbon" across the middle is actually the zip tie to this sheet, so I literally used every scrap!

Ingredients: Snowhaven Paper Pack: (X7188B), White Daisy Cardstock (1385), Cranberry Ink (Z2116), Glacier Ink (Z2641), Epoxy Bubbles (Z1935), Sparkles Clear Flourishes (Z1812), Flakey Friends (C1506), October Stamp of the Month (Coming Soon!), Be Jolly (Hostess Rewards), and ShinHan Twin Touch Markers (click here).

Two Cards on a Tuesday Morning

Good morning everyone! Yesterday, I had some time in my craftroom to play around with some new paper packs and Mojo Monday's Sketch #359. Here is this week's sketch:

For this sketch, I decided to add a flower from the Budding Friendship stamp set that I had colored using our markers, instead of a circle. Since I had colored the flower orange, previously, I immediately thought of our new paper pack Scaredy Cat. Technically, this is Halloween paper, but only one sheet in the pack is Halloween exclusive making it very versatile. Here is the final product.

The sentiment also came from a Budding Friendship, and the dry embossing is our new chevron folder.

With this sketch in mind, I took some liberties to create a baby shower card that is similar, but not exact. I used a retired paper pack called Lollydoodle and the Cricut cartridge Baby Steps. I also used a generic brand dry embossing folder.

The sentiment is from a Hostess exclusive stamp set called Sweet as sugar. Because it is exclusive to hostesses, be sure to book your home or online gathering!

What a Hoot: August Stamp of the Month

Yesterday, I had a very fun home gathering with some awesome ladies! It is so much fun to teach stamping techniques to new people. For our make and take, We made this card with the August Stamp of the Month.

The August Stamp of the Month called "What a Hoot" is absolutely "owldorable".  It features two owls, several eye choices, two different wings, and two sentiments.

Quilling: Thinking of You Card

Quilling is a papercrafting technique using a quilling tool and strips of paper to create shapes. Close to My Heart's quilling tool can be used with our Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, which has several spiraled flower images for you to cut.

I decided to attempt quilling for the first time using these tools, two different stamp sets, and the Yuletide paper pack. This is the card I created.

As you can see from the pictures, I chose a rose pattern from Art Philosophy. The flowers were cut at various sizes between .75in and 2in. I discovered that my Cricut mat needed to be very sticky in order for the flowers not to tear as the machine cut them. I also learned that the smaller flowers were harder to keep from tearing. Pro tip: I slowed my cut speed on the Cricut to three (3). That kept the paper from tearing as much.

The leaves were created using a Budding Friendship stamp set. I then colored the leaves with our new markers! I used a blending technique, so that the leaves are darker around the edges. Our new markers allow for seamless blending, and the color is very rich.

Just to give you a better idea of what the Yuletide Workshop on the Go looks like, check out the pictures below. As you can see, the design is meant to put you in the holiday spirit. But, as my card demonstrates, you are not limited to a Christmas design.

Ingredients: Yuletide Workshop of the Go (G1084), Barn Red Cardstock (X5637), Black Cardstock (1386), Colonial White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack (X254), Sincere Expressions Stamp Set (A1146), A Budding Friendship Stamp Set (D1602), Ponderosa Pine Ink Pad (Z2145), Barn Red Ink Pad (Z2104), ShinHan Touch Twin Leaf Green Marker (Z2454), ShinHan Touch Twin Sap Green Marker (Z2463), Quilling Tool (Z1795), Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge (Z1686)

Playing with Artbooking: Mommy and Me Spread

CTMH has an exclusive line of Cricut cartridges. The Artbooking cartridge is specifically designed to help you create adorable memory pages in both 12x12 and mini album sizes.

I used this awesome cartridge to make a double page Mommy and Me layout for my son's first year scrapbook.

Notice the honeycomb overlay and border. Both of these along with the You+Me title and the "also, I love you" caption were cut from the Artbooking cartridge. The great thing about the cartridge is that is is already sized to fit the layouts. You just add your image and hit cut!

I also added hidden journaling to the page using the tag image from the Art Philosophy cartridge.

The Art Philosophy cartridge is compatible with many of our stamp sets making it very versatile.

Ingredients: Artbooking Cartridge (Z1906), Art Philosophy Cartridge (Z1686), White Daisy Cardstock (1385), Slate Cardstock (X5930), Pear Cardstock (X5764), Pacifica Ink (Z2192), Hollyhock Ink (Z2128), Pear Ink (Z2197), Sanding Kit (Z1294)
