For today's spread, I was inspired by a single page friends layout. I used this design to create a page from the beginning of spring time in Ohio when my husband and son were first able to play in our backyard.
What I really liked about this layout was the use of the brackets to draw the eye to the single photo. Drawing the colors from the photo, I chose the retired Later Sk8er paper pack. And, the brackets were cut from the Paper Fundamentals Basic Assortment using Cricut Art Philosophy.
For page two of the layout, I used three vertical pictures sized 5x3 to showcase the rest of the adventure.
I used Picture My Life cards from the Later Sk8er kit on both pages to work as both a title and journaling space.
On the left page, I used an adorable icon cut from the Cricut Lite B is for Boy cartridge, and a pennant banner cut from Cricut Art Philosophy and stamped using All the Details. "Today is a good day" is also stamped from All the Details.
All and all, I really love the way the color scheme coordinates so well with the photos creating a spread that captures the fun of the day!
Happy Scrapping, My Artsy Friends!

Hi April. I'm your latest follower. I love this idea that you've come up with "Pinspiration." I do all sorts of pins on Pinterest and use the board for inspiration and to post a few CTMH specials and such. I'm old to Pinterest but sort of new to CTMH. LOL I love both of your layouts and look forward to seeing more. I'd like to invite you to come visit me at my blog if you like. cardsbymarianne.blogspot.ca
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marianne! I started following your blog, as well.
DeleteI like how you turned a girly theme into a masculine one. I'd love to see you enter this at Heart 2 Heart Challenges (http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/). This week's challenge is to pair something old (the Later Sk8r paper pack in this case) with something new (the Later Sk8r Ala Carte Picture My Life that was new in Seasonal Expressions, right?). You have until the end of the month to link up your blog post. I hope you do. You do nice work!
ReplyDeleteThanks, so much Cynthia! I will submit it right now!
DeleteYay! I'm so glad you did!

DeleteI love me some Later Sk8r!!! What a sweet layout of your son and husband! Thanks for linking it up to H2H's Old is New Challenge!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking a look! I discovered CTMH after Later Sk8r retired. But, I love it so much that I bought leftover sheets from some of my Heart Sisters. :)
DeleteLove the way you used the PML cards on your layouts....didn't realize the Later Sk8tr PMLs were new until just now. Thanks for playing with us at H2H
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I absolutely love using PML cards as accents! So glad we can buy them without the extra page protectors now!!!
DeleteGreat use of the PML cards! I love all the little details on your layout. Fabulous job! Thanks for joining us at H2H!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I really like adding details that enhance the story of the page! Just need to get my husband to do some journaling on the PML card. LOL
DeleteWhat a gorgeous layout- I have two boys so am always on the lookout for little boy layouts and yours is absolutely wonderful! Thanks for sharing it with us at H2H challenges.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I am finding that the easiest way to make boy pages is to take "girl" pages and swap color schemes. But, I do know that Big Picture Classes has an ebook specific to boy layout. I do not own this ebook, but it is available. :)
DeleteYour LO and subject are adorable! I'm impressed that you're being productive with Pinterest. (I pin way more than I ever actually make!)Thanks for joining us @ H2H!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I think he's pretty cute. ;)
DeleteI refused to use Pinterest for so long, specifically for that reason. I was worried I would spend all my time pinning, and never make anything. I am glad that I am actually using my few little pins! Plus, it gets me out of the routine of the same few designs I use so frequently.
Awe, precious. Later Sk8r is still one of my favorites. Hoarding it like crazy, let me tell ya. :)
ReplyDeleteI know! I actually just bought some more packs from a CTMH discussion board! LOL
